American Assimilation Helpline! (AAH!)
Mission: Education 4 All
AAH! is a global student-led 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (est. 2017) based in the US. It is dedicated to providing free and personalized one-on-one tutoring. Our mission is focused on mitigating structural inequalities, creating equal academic opportunities for every child, and reducing the wealth and gender gaps. AAH! offers its services to low-income, immigrant, refugee, and homeless students with little or no access to educational resources. We have been partnering with and connecting our twenty-nine local chapters and our interns to students in developing countries working with missionaries and school institutions through an AAH! internship. Interns teach English and programming languages to those who need educational assistance the most through our Education 4 All initiative. For instance, our volunteers manage the English curriculum at a Paraguayan partner school (Colegio Cristiano Arte), teach English to Brazilian students from our four partner churches in Brazil (Igreja Metodista de Manaus, Igreja Metodista Novo Israel, Igreja Metodista Mutirao, and Igreja Metodista Fonte de Agua Viva), and teach English and coding to South Korean, Japanese, Malaysian, Indian, Cambodian, Romanian, Singaporean, Thai, Indonesian, Turkish and Colombian students throughout the year. Consequently, since its inception, AAH! has extended its reach to nineteen states and fifteen countries, impacting 1000+ students across the world with about 700+ tutors and twenty-nine local chapters across the globe along the way.
Each student is matched to a tutor based on each student's specific needs. AAH! accommodates custom requests from parents to cater to their child’s needs, such as their preferred subject and tutor. Tutors utilize the many available online resources to help students master concepts while receiving community service hours from their schools. This uniquely effective setup of tutoring sessions provides a great opportunity to freely work with teachers to gain an understanding of difficult subjects.
Our quickly growing computer science department focuses on creating equal opportunities for those marginalized in STEM, teaching Scratch, HTML/CSS, Python, and Java, along with key programming concepts. There are a variety of core school subjects covered, specifically math, language arts, science, social studies, Spanish, French, music, and SAT & ACT prep.
AAH! is a certifying organization for the President's Volunteer Service Award, so we recognize our most outstanding volunteers. Regular sessions in the U.S. take place every Sunday from 5-6 PM EST during the school year, and international sessions are offered year-round (including summer vacation). Students who need help with schoolwork or learning the English language are welcome!
AAH! has also been working on various projects year-round such as connecting with international volunteers, contributing dozens of devices to students in need, donating school supplies, hosting annual blood drives with the American Red Cross, sending cards to hospitalized children/veterans & seniors, and cleaning our local street quarterly.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our sessions have both virtual and in-person options at AAH! learning labs. While most sessions are conducted over Google Meet, the New Church of Atlanta and Lutheran Church of the Incarnation offered their facilities for in-person tutoring sessions.

We are excited to announce that a new chapter has been established at Rice University by our co-founders for the 2023-2024 year. Currently, we are in the process of forming two partnerships with Baker-Ripley Neighbor School and Sunnyside High School. We look forward to our new expansion in the Houston Area and to teach new students! As AAH’s first college chapter and in the state of Texas, we also look to partner with a number of colleges in the Houston community like University of Houston and Texas Southern University.

AAH! health event: blood drive & cpr training
Partnering with the American Red Cross, we held our annual blood drive. With an average of 35 donors each year, the event can contribute to saving the lives of up to 100 people. Thank you to those who contributed to addressing today's significant blood supply shortage!
There is currently an extreme shortage of blood needed for lifesaving transfusions, and the Red Cross is crucial in solving this issue. Even one donation can save up to three lives. A blood transfusion is needed every two seconds, and there is never enough supply to meet demand.

ADOPT-A-MILE PROGRAM (Cobb County Govt.)
American Assimilation Helpline! Inc. has been a proud supporter of the Cobb County Keep Cobb Beautiful Adopt-A-Mile program. AAH! has officially adopted about a mile of Indian Hills Parkway, Marietta GA-30068. Clean-ups are held at every quarter first Sunday. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s great to see our neighborhood clean and neat. And each time we clean up our mile, there seems to be less trash to collect, so we are confident that we are making a difference. AAH! Adopt a mile program is an excellent way for groups to work together to keep Cobb beautiful. Cobb County has been reputed as one of the most attractive communities in the Southeast. Let’s preserve this attribute!
What to Expect
-
Usually, it takes less than an hour for volunteers to pick up the trash that has accumulated and collect the orange bags in a central location for the county to pick up.
-
Bags, latex gloves, and safety vests are provided.
-
Covid-19 precautions are observed! We provide masks and we keep our distance.
-
Wear sturdy shoes or boots and bring gloves if you’d rather not use the latex gloves we provide.
-
Children under 13 are not allowed on the cleanups for safety reasons. Children 13 and over must be accompanied by an adult.
AAH! NEW YORK local CHAPTERs HELPING IMMIGRANTS IN NEED!
By running an event in Flushing, New York, through the Minkwon Center, the New York AAH! chapter helped immigrants set up apps that make them aware of how prevalent COVID-19 is in their communities and connect to smart thermometers tracking their health. The members also helped guide those interested in resources such as a health insurance plan and food stamps.
This initiative is a part of our mission of helping those in need, such as immigrants.
As part of its commitment to creating quality educational opportunities for students in need, our AAH! New York chapter raised funds to donate to the Hanmaun Zen Center youth group's educational programs.
AAH! NEW YORK CHAPTERs HELPING IMMIGRANT communities!
Five of our local chapters in New York volunteered at Randalls Island to help with lowering food prices for immigrant communities. They regularly took part in agricultural initiatives easing cost burdens on the community.

Everything's Possible in Computer Science!
My son, Bless, has been an AAH student since 2017. They have been supporting my son and our family in countless ways. Since we get so much from AAH, we decided to do something about it. Bless will tutor AAH students starting next year, and I am more than happy to give back to AAH as a sponsor! The organization is comprised of many amazing volunteers, and I believe they are the future of America.
LCI has been with AAH from its incubating stage. In short, it was so fun to witness that three passionate middle school students started a new organization to help the refugee and immigrant friends for their study and assimilating in the US culture. And now after 4 years, it has grown beyond even its geography boundaries and extended its service to international students. This achievement is truly inexplicable but maybe the miracle of God, considering that this has been happening during the coronavirus pandemic, when we can’t physically gather together for the normal activities. As a pastor of a Christian church, I pray for God’s blessings for AAH and for continually growing, so that this organization can provide more service to anyone in need, despite of all the differences between the teachers and the students.
May God bless all the participants in AAH!

AAH has been a tremendous asset to our local area. Passionate about their cause, they’ve helped numerous students academically while also giving them guidance to assimilate among their peer group, which leads to better grades and much higher confidence levels. This is so critical in school-age children. We at Fit for Trips are thrilled to support them. The assistance they offer, and the value it brings, elevates the entire community.
